CWA District 9 Offices
2870 Gateway Oaks Drive, Suite 100
Sacramento, CA 95833
Bearing in mind the high level of bilingual proficiency
required to meet the demands of court interpreting, this workshop
veers away from think-ing in terms of the right or wrong word
but instead focuses on the more productive search for linguistic-based
explanations for the word choices interpreters make during the
course of their performance.
Debbie Donson, Federal and California Court Certified Interpreter
has worked as a court interpreter in LA Superior Court since 1994
and recently received a certificate in Teaching English as
a Foreign Language at UCLA Extension, and an M.A. in Linguistics/Teaching
English as a Second Language at California State University Long
Beach.
